Saw your blog, I too was a little skeptical as far a what machine to get or if it matters. Well, I did some research and I decided to go with the one by Enagic. For one thing it produces strong Alkline and Acidic also if you can't figure something out you have great support. I also like that it is approved in Japan by their organzation that is comparable to the FDA out here US. Well anyways I bought my machine almost 2 years ago and I love it. I have had acid reflux for years and the water has helped greatly and I also suffer from time to time with joint problems and that has subsided. The water is the best tasting water out there and my kid loves it so much she talks to her little friends about it. I haven't gotten into the whole selling side of it, but I may in the near future I have to use something for awhile before I sell it. I am going to be putting some things together in a week or so. The most costly components of any ionizing water device are the electrolysis plates which are made of the precious metals titanium and platinum. (Platinum costs over $1,500 an ounce. ) Some cheaper ionizer use wire mesh, sprayed with platinum coating while Enagic uses plates that are solid titanium, dipped in platinum, a nearly 5 times larger surface area..

For example, one of the higher priced competitor units costs $1,400. The surface area of their platinum sprayed wire mesh water chamber electrolysis plates is 56 sq. inches. An Enagic SD501 machine has 245 sq. inches of solid (not mesh) titanium plates that are platinum dipped. If you divide the surface area into the cost of the device, the competition is charging $25 a square inch for platinum sprayed wire mesh vs. $16 per square inch for platinum dipped solid plates used in the Enagic machine.

One of the factors that reduce the efficiency of any ionizing water device is when the electrolysis plates in the water chamber heat up. Small plates heat up more quickly than large ones. This causes the alkalinity to drop off sharply and quickly in devices with small plates, and affects the ability of the machine to create hexagonal water cluster. The alkalinity of the water produced by the SD501 drops off only 15% after an hour of continual use, compared to minutes in competing devices.

The SD501 watts of electricity are 230 watts vs. 80 watts in the closest competitor’s machine. Since electricity is the power that split’s the water molecule and produces the desirable hexagonal molecular structure, more power is definitely better. Others can’t deliver this power because the plates are too small and will overheat.

Several years ago. Dr. David Carpenter, ND, learned about ionized Kangen Water being used by Japanese health professionals. Japanese doctors using low pH cid water to treat skin conditions including psoriasis, bed sores, diabetic ulcers and gangrene. They also had their patients drink alkaline Kangen Water for many different health conditions. Since doctors achieved consistently impressive results in Japan, when Dr. Carpenter returned to the US he began to search for a water ionizing device that would produce the same healing waters. (This was before Enagic kangen water generators were available US.)

Dr. Carpenter purchased a number of water ionizers that were promoted as producing alkaline, micro clustered, anti-oxidant water and tested them by giving his patients (who had various health disorders) drinking water from these devices.
